SkyData UAV works with golf course development teams throughout the United States – surveyors, architects, engineers and contractors – to deliver technical imaging services that map, design, monitor and document the progress of new golf course construction, as well as golf course renovations and redesigns.

DATA & IMAGES FOR DECISION-MAKING

By incorporating our images and data into your construction monitoring workflow, your projects are displayed in detailed 2D orthomosaics images and 3D models to help improve the overall understanding of your golf course construction status.

Pre-Construction Site Work

  • Detailed aerial photographs of the golf course with a scale of one inch representing six feet
  • Post-grubbing topography measurements aligned with ground control points
  • Wetlands and other environmental imaging


Site Preparation

  • Orthomosaic images of individual holes, nine holes or the entire course
  • Place tee, fairway, green, circulation, irrigation and drainage plans over orthomosaic images of the course to show as planned against as built while the project is in progress
  • Provide contours in one-foot increments overlaying an orthomosaic image of the courses. We can use your ground control points, or mark GCPs for you. Customer-provided GCPs lowers the cost of the flight.


INCREASE EFFICIENCY & LOWER COSTS

Once the initial flight pattern is established, SkyData replicates the same flight over the golf course construction project’s life to provide you with precision data and images. Our UAVs fly lower and more cost effectively over proposed and existing golf course construction sites than manned aircraft to provide more detailed, highly accurate and geo-located images and metadata.


OPTIMUM FLIGHT TIME

The best time to fly is between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on a clear day or an overcast day with no cloud shadows. This time frame produces the most uniform images for analysis, and generally is the amount of time required to fly 18 holes.

When SkyData’s images and the golf course's construction plans are viewed simultaneously, you can immediately see whether the plans and construction align. Adjustments are discussed. Changes are documented. Issues are resolved that could impact the bottom line.
